Add-On Air Intake System

Been considering one of those add-on air intake systems for my Monte Carlo. Wondering if it would be beneficial as far as mileage. Or performance.
They're usually 7-9" of aluminum tubing and a K&N cylindrical filter and would freely draw in hot engine compartment air. The stock filter draws the air thru a 2X2" hole in the radiator support. (Not much area, although it seems to me that cool outside air would be better)
Also, the add-on is supposed to make this noticable "cool sucking sound"> (If you're into sissy-a** things like that)
Just wondering if anyone has experience with this sort of add-on and if beneficial.

It probably will not make any difference. The only true intake systems that have good HP gains and a slight increase in MPG is a true "cold air intake", which draws air directly from outside.

The Debate of K/N air filters increasing performance has been going on for years.

A very simple question about this concept will help you make an Informed choice.....(The Cool Sucky noise Not withstanding).....

If you removed your aircleaner completely, would you notice significant Gains??????

If not, The No airfilter has still gotta flow better than a High Perf Air filter....So dont waste your time...Unless You Like "Sissy *ss" sucky Noises..
