Taurus cranks as if flooded
My 2001 Taurus with 80,000 miles cranks several seconds when engine is hot and has set for a short time. Engine starts right up normally when cold or if set for quite a while or if started up immediately after shutting off. It`s almost as if the car is flooding as per the old days when carbs were problematic. Any ideas as to what to check for? Thanks!

Had similar symptoms, and suspected injector leak by. Drove it to get to problem temperature & gave it a quick rev, and shut off the key, to allow for expulsion of any fuel in cylinders, then parked it. Gave it about an hour, pulled all the plugs & found 2 wet ones. Pulled those 2 injectors, had them rebuilt, back in, and problem was solved for me. Never was a real believer in injector cleaner from a bottle, but have been told the Champion flush kit has been used with some success.
