Driving Me Crazy
This is Nissan Altima 2001 the idle is erractic when I first start the car it is fine then after it is warm the idle is very low almost about to stall - I had all the gaskets change now I am being told it could be the plugs but those were changed about two months ago now a valve gasket leak - has anyone had these problems with the Nissan? I live in El Paso Texas so the car doesn't take very long to warm up

I owned three Nissans, and still have two. A Maxima and a '08 Pathfinder. Never had any issues with any of them.
Do you have a check engine light on?
Are you leaking oil? Low on antifreeze?

It sounds like you need to go to a different shop. It sounds like they are doing alot of guessing. None of the things you say have been done should have any affect on idle.
Is your check engine light on? I would start there. Even if the light isnt on a good mechanic will be able to use a scan tool and pinpoint possible problems.
Hope this helps ya,
Billy

why don't you do the obvious first: go to any major parts store and have it scanned for error codes?(free!!) and if none, then just follow this:
http://autorepair.about.com/cs/faqs/l/aa042603a_1.htm
or print out what's most appropriate to your situation and ask your mech to do it. they are obviously milking you (and guessing).
on a general note, sounds like air/vacuum leak somewhere.
also, check if your a/c is on all the time. takes power away from the engine. but even with that, should not be that bad.
