1993 ford escort Check engine light
Car runs great 140K miles.
Once in a while the check engine light comes on cold or hot. Dint really worry much as kept running.
Well the car stopped running and the light came on. It started right up after disconnecting the intake from the airbox. then reconnected it runs good for a couple days then have to do the sam and it runns. Whats up with this. any help greatly appreciated >>

The first thing you need to do is find out what the check engine light is about. The code is going to lead you in the direction of the problem. There are way too many possibilities without this information.

yes thanks for reply. Sometimes these cars throw several codes at once. This is a simple sensor hopefully some will know off the top of their head. if not I have another 93 sitting here will swap maf and other sensors until problem is fixed
