94 Buick Century new gas tank overflows when filled

I recently installed a new gas tank in a 1994 buick century v6 3.1l. Everytime I fill it up with gas it wants to splash out when filled. I never had this problem with the old gas tanks. I actually have to bend down and listen to hear when the tank is full or it will splash out near the top. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Either your evap cannister is clogged, or your filler neck needs to be replaced.

Was it doing this with the old tank as well? Did you see any charcoal in the old one?

I would double check to see if your filler neck down to the tank is not kinked, if it is not, replace it.
