95 Windstar ABS groaning
My 95 Windstar ABS system has a groaning from the front under the hood when brakes are depressed. The ABS light only comes on occassionally and doesn't stay on. Would this groaning be the ABS sensors needing to be cleaning, or would I have to look deeper into the ABS module? The brakes work great and no vibration or pulsing in the peddle. I'de hate to have to replace the module as it would cost more than the van is worth. If the contacts just need to be cleaned, how would I go about taking them off and cleaning them? Does the rotor have to come off to access the sensors?

Quick check.....
In the underhood fuse block.....Remove the ABS fuses....Drive the car...If the symptoms are resolved....Look carefully at the "Tone Rings" around the CV axles......One of them will be Cracked or Chipped.
If you can verify this, the fix is to replace the Offending CV axle..
