Fuel Filter on a New Beetle

Fuel Filter on a New Beetle
I have a 2004 New Beetle and was told by a machanic that the fuel filter needs changed, but he couldn't tell me where it was located on the car. It sometimes dies when starting from a full stop, kinda like starting out in a higher gear. I need to know where the fuel filter is located so my husband can change it for me. Thanks in advance.
