Aother Durango Ques. A/C this time
This 2005 Durango I have seems to have a bad A/c Cycling switch. A/C runs, stops blowing as like the evap is frozen. Have had it in several times to take advantage if the extra waranty I bought. Unfortunately, the repair guys haven't figured it out even when I've left notes as to "This is the problem, change this".
Dodge says there is an A/c cycle switch kit for $100 plus.
I wonder if I could just put in an A/C evap temp sensor (open at 38 close at 48) on the suction line to cut the comp on and off. Only cost 30 bucks give or take.

I had the same problem in my wifes old Stratus. I replaced everything under the sun. I ended up having two bad control panels in a row.....go figure.
I take it the warranty is up? They should have fixed this for good when it was still warrantied. I would bring it back to them and tell them to fix it right, and on their dime.

Warranty is not up. Actually bought this thing from a CARMAX I do service for.
THing is it's 50 for them to fix it if I can finally get them to realize the note on the speedo is telling them whats wrong. Plus I have to pick up wife bring her to work pick her up etc.
A regular switch is 30 bucks or so at R.E Michels. Why not just put in my own switch, and save 20 bucks and driving wife around?
Only have to stop compressor and turn it back on.
