blistering paint

I am trying to repaint the fender on a 2002 Buick park avenue. There are several spots that develop blistering and crackling. How can I eliminate the blistering.

What preperation did you do? Sanding, priming, etc?

After prep, it needs to be thoroughly cleaned in order for the paint to adhere.

What kind of paint are you using?

What caused the blistering? Is it the new paint that is blistering? or is that why you are painting the fender?
Not all primers and automotive paints are compatible.

btw - welcome to the forums!

if the paint is cracked, you will NEVER get the crack out. It will come back time after time until you strip/sand the cracks out and the traces below in the metal. sounds like the blisters are a result of someone spilling a chemical of some kind on the fender. clean/sand the affected areas to the metal, treat/clean metal, re-prime and paint.

been there; done that!! (more than once)
