Welcome to the forums!

Front or rear brakes? or both?
Did he bleed the brakes? check the brake fluid level?

There is much that has not been told to us. Like - if he drained the master cylinder dry while bleeding, does he know about bleeding the master cylinder? Did he put in a new master cylinder or were there symptoms IT was the thing that was bad, to begin with? Did he preadjust the rear (drum?) brakes to get them to gently rub, or didn't he do any adjusting at all? Were any of the rotors or drums extremely severly worn down? Does he know about brake bleeding sequence? (Who knows, maybe he has just lucky in the past, depending on what he did with brake jobs)
