I have a issue that the gear shift on my automatic is requiring way too much force returning to park. I would think it is a bushing of some sort but interested in the ballpark repair $'s
I'm sure it's a matter of time until it is stuck in gear....
Anybody versed in his area....I'm money poor but mechanically inclined...looking for help

Look carefully at the full span of your shifter cable.....
Mother Mopar , in all of her infinite wisdom, routed the cable directly under the battery tray, And it is very common for "ACID DRIP" to damage the cable.
At the transmission, pop the cable end off the gear selector , and try it, if it is still tight, replace the cable, if not, suspect internal trans issues with the valve body.

Thanks for the info...
I will look into the suggestion...
In the past it has actually got stuck in low...but a local mechanic simply giggled something towards the transmission and it moved freely again....Now it is at the point where it will easily slip into drive but it takes excessive force & back and forth motions to get it back into park....Only a matter of time...
If it is transmission problem I think it's junkyard bound...it was rebuilt twice in it's young years and replaced with a rebuilt on the third incident....the car has no resale value to spend big dollars....
Again thank you for the direction
