Thumbs down a/c compressor removal

what do i need to remove the a/c compressor on my 1995 pontiac bonneville ssei ?

well, what you really need to do first is to evacuate the a/c system from freon. and that is being done by a/c mechanics. now, you could find superwallmart with repair shop - that would've been the best priced option. otherwise, you'll pour a lot of nasty stuff right into the atmosphere. do not even think about removing it without pressure releaved completely.
otherwise, regular set of tools will work fine to remove it. depending on where it's positioned - up or below on the engine, you might need to remove wheel and tirewell cover for better access, if your engine is not inline in the engine bay.
all you do is disconnect contact for clutch, 2 a/c lines and, usually, 4 monting bolts. of course, the belt. that's pretty much it.
if compressor is seized, don't rush to swap it. pour some good oil into the a/c line holes and try to hand cranck it. you might be pleasently surprised. it's tough initially, but then it might pick up and go just fine. well, visegrip might help with that..
