Fuel Tank Vent?

Have a 1995 Ford Aspire with 1.3 L motor. There is a canister under the hood that has a hose on top marked "To Fuel Tank". There is a hose coming from the bottom that is plugged with a "bolt". It is leaking gas. Along side this, is a t-fitting with a piece of hose attached to it, but I cannot find where it goes to. Can anyone help?

That's the charcoal cannister for your evaporative emission control system. It is designed to trap fuel vapors from the tank and then direct the collected vapors/fuel into the intake manifold to re burned. I'll try find a diagram fro you.

Here's the info, plus it should be on a sticker under the hood:

You need to get this fixed and there's a good chance the charcoal cannister is shot. Leaking raw gas under the hood is a recipe for a 911 call.
