2002 chevy venture - battery light

I am hoping that someone can assist me with this issue. The check battery light of my 2002 Venture goes on intermittently. The van was checked out by a local Chevy dealership who found no issue with the battery or the cables, and they would need to do an extensive, and expensive diagnostic to see what was causing the battery light to go on and off. A diagnostic machine was also put on the vehicle by one of the local parts store, but again no problem was found with the van. I have checked the connections and all appear to be ok.

If there is no voltage between the alternator and the underhood fuse block, it is probably a bad under hood fuse block causing the problem. There should be a DTC P0620 set if this is the case.

slipping belt. donno how many miles you have on it, i assume it's serpentine belt, but they are mostly not quite good after 100K miles.
tensioner is giving time to time. thus, tension on belt goes down.
try belt dressing from any parts store and see what happens. if the problem goes away, belt it is, time to change.
btw, you should have a dial on the tensioner pully showing if belt is still good. find tensioner, should have triangle stamped on it, pointing inbetween 2 marks on the engine. should be roughly in the middle.

Had an alternator on my 02 2500hd going bad would turn the battery light on from time to time. Took a month before I was in a position with my meter to catch light on and get a voltage reading. I will bet if you put a meter on it while the light is on the alternator is not charging. First time I had ever seen an alternator come and go like that.
