Maintenance light

I have an /03 Honda Civic that is off warranty. The needs maintenance light stays on although there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, and I have done an oil change recently. I know this light will come on as a reminder to change the oil. How do you reset the maintenance light? I had the dealer show me some time ago but they want to charge me to do it again.

Sorry I can't help you on your car but I am wondering if this may be covered in your Owners Manual?

A quick search on the internet found this:

To reset after oil & filter change: turn key on while holding in trip odometer. Hold for approximately 8 to 10 seconds with switch on, then switch off and repeat if necessary.

Hope it works for you.

No such luck, seems this is another way to garner much needed cash from unsuspecting owners. Thanks any way.
