Tranny ?

My tranny in my 02 Mustang GT has started to shutter? Does anyone have an idea what may cause this?

unfortunately it could be several problems, the first thing you need to do is take it somewhere and see if the trans computer is holding any trouble codes. also have you checked the fluid level?

I'm assuming this is the ole 2 to 3, or 3 to OD upshift shudder.
If so..............

Don't panic. This is a common issue with Ford AOD-E trannys.
Have the trans filter and fluid changed. LOOK IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL, and see what fluid to use. MAKE SURE the shop uses the correct fluid, and have them add a Friction Modifier after the fluid change. (Lubeguard, or even Lucas Trans Fix works good).
And be faithful to the tranny fluid change intervals in the owners manual.

DO NOT have the tranny "power flushed".

The pan must be dropped, and the tourqe converter drained, to get the old fluid out, and stop the shudder issue.
