Fuel Alternatives?
Has Anyone every tried the fuel conversions, like adding acetone to tank to increase gas milage, or a water conversion of engine to offset the high price of fuel? I keep seeing these ads, & with price of gas back up to $4/gal, I wonder has this been helpful to anyone? I have read, for about $1000, people have converted their diesels to run on waste cooking oil or vegetable oil successfully.

You will hear from some who swear by this "miracle" cure or that, and others that say it is all in their minds.
If you trust sources such as Consumer Reports, they will tell you to spend your money on a good tune up and to practice a lighter touch on the gas pedal.
