Just a quick question on the rear disc-brakes on a Malibu. I always thought the rear drum brakes on a car would last approx. twice as long as the front, is it normal for rear disc-brakes to wear out sooner than the front or could something else be wrong? Thanks

While that was a general rule, it wasnt bullet proof.....
Disc brakes in general ---Front or rear, are much more picky to the conditions of your left foot.
I would put the rear brakes on the car, and if nothing blatantly obvios is wrong when you tear it down, Note the mileage and compare it to the next brake job. You didnt mention a year, But FACTORY EQUIPMENT always considerably outlasts aftermarket replacements.
