Unhappy 2001 grand cherokee ignition key issue

I lost my cherokee ignition key and I must to buy another one
but I don't know if it has internal chip, how can I know if that key has it? Has a physic particual feature?

My brother has a 2000 Grand Cherokee, and I know that when he went to get a spare key made it cost like $60.00 because it had a chip in it. I don't know for sure if yours does, but I am pretty sure it does. Good luck.

The 2001 should be a SKIM key. The top of the key should be gray. The key will have to be programmed to your vehicle prior to use.
