'02 Dodge Gr.Caravan engine

We have a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan Sport V-6 3.8L engine. When we start the car, we get a noise from the engine that goes up and down as we accelerate and slow down. It's like a noisy whistle, and seems to away once the engine is warm. We notice it the most when we stop at the stop sign/light. I took it to a shop but they couldn't figure out what it was. The car runs fine as far as I'm concerned. Anybody has any idea what it could be?

Did it or didn't it whistle for the guys at the shop? Or did it whistle and they still could not tell where it was coming from? When you pop the hood, do you hear the whistle any better there than when in the cabin? Can you even tell what direction it is coming from? Are all accesseries and a/c off at the time, so that it is only engine running?
