2003 Odyssey fan only works on high speed
The heat/AC fan will only work on high speed. The rear fan works fine but not the front but yet the a/c will not come on at all. I've heard this may be the blower motor resistor -- does this sound like it could be the cause? Is a new part hard to install?
Thanks,

Typically if the fan only works on one speed, it's the resistor pack attached to the blower housing, but since your AC isn't turning on, it maybe your control panel. Let me go check and see if I can pull a schematic.
Couldn't find a diagram, but from reading, if the resistor pack goes out, it will take out the AC as well.

I replaced the blower motor transistor (this model doesn't have a resistor) on the 2003 Honda Odyssey EXL RES and everything is working correctly now. Part was $70 from local Honda dealer. They looked up the part based on my VIN. The transistor fixed the blower speeds and the A/C.
It was easy to install. The blower motor is located behind the fuse box on the front passenger side. It is tucked up under some wire bundles near the bottom of the glovebox. You have to lie on the floorboard and look up to find it. I unplugged the unit, removed three screws and pulled out the old part. Installed the new part, tightened the screws and plugged it in. Less than 15 minutes.
