1991 Dodge Caravan Ball Joints

Is this a DIY job? We are having the clunk on acceleration and a bit of clunking from going over bumps, and we WERE told ball joints were going awhile ago. We do have them purchased, just need to know if we can save on the labour and attempt it safely?

just tried to look this up on the autozone website, based on what i could find yes you can attempt this yourself, be sure to use jack stands to support the vehicle under the frame while doing the change out. jack vehicle up, remove tires, remove lock bolt from lower controle arm and use prybar to push down on the lower control arm and then if the info i found is correct you can unbolt the old ball joints and just bolt in new and reassemble in reverse.

life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies.

Just to echo 'wrenchs's safety note, GOOD set of jack stands and on SOLID ground with parking brake SET. You may need to apply quite a bit of force with the prybar and unless solidly supported you could have a real problem.
