F350 smell

Hi all, a friend's F350, a '94 automatic, reeks of rotten eggs after about 20 min. of driving. A dealer changed the IAC. No help, I think it's the catalytic converter, dealer says it didn't come up on the diagnostic. Any other ideas, Thanks in advance

change the place that you are buying your gas, the most common cause for the rotten egg smell is too much sulpher in the fuel.
good luck

You stated the IAC was changed so I assume it is a gas engine, if so I would be looking for a vacuum leak or any thing else that would cause a lean mixture. lean mix is a big cause of rotten egg smell in gas engines.

Rotten egg smell is normally always a bad cat. How did he test it?

update on the smell

Turns out it was the battery being overcharged, supposedly the battery was too small, for the vehicle and the alt. was charging the hell out of it.
