Radio Stays on in car
I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey. Electrical power has been fine since we owned the car. About a month or so ago, the radio would stay on in the car for about 5-6 seconds after turning off the ignition. It might have started before I attempted something, i'm not sure, but I definately noticed it after I tried replacing the egr valve. During that attempt, I un-hooked the battery, and then removed a few bolts.... but that was about it.
Everything works fine in the car, as far as I am aware, except the radio thing. Again, it just seemd to start now after owning the car for 8 1/2 years.
Any idea what is causing this, or if it could lead to worse things?

Is the key in the ignition when this happens? The reason I am asking this is because the radio may be hardwired in the vehicle like in my 95 Jetta. The radio in my car stays on until you turn it off or take the key out of the ignition, which I think is a great idea especially if you are waiting to meet someone and you don't need any of the other accessories on.

The radio stays on after the key is taken out of the ignition. I can normally, unhook my seat belt, and be out of the car before it turns off. I now wait by the door before I walk away, until I know it has turned off, so that it does not run down the battery. Again, this just started happening, after we had owned the car for 8 + years. and possibly at the same time I was monkeying with the egr valve
Thanks

Maybe this is the "default" operation - and was reset when you removed the battery. I seem to remember getting a rental that did this.
