Unhappy Wheel Lug Nuts

I needed to do some work on the brakes on my 98 mazda Millenia.
Each wheel has one security lug nut but when i tried to loosen them , the weld inside the socket gave out.
So i went to autozone and the guy there said i will not be able to buy a new one.
If that is true, how do i get them off to replace them?

You might try the dealer or a junk yard to find the socket you need.

Any decent tire store will have a socket to get them off. They look like this:

If the rims are valuable, replace the locks; if not, just put plain nuts on.

I haven't tried this, but I heard the one-size-fits-all socket (the one with many sliding pins inside) can work on security lugs.

I bought one of those sliding pin sockets. They actually work as well as advertised. It's cumbersome to use a lot of the time, but a handful of times a years it's the only thing I have that works.
