Phantom signal clicking
My 2002 Malibu has started to "click" like the turn signal is on, but just the noise, the signals aren't activated. If I turn on the emergency flashers and then quickly off, it stops. But will start again on a sharp turn of the steering wheel or hitting a bump, like railroad tracks. Any thoughts, I'm thinking the relay switch, but really hope it doesn't involve getting into the steering column.

Very common most likely it is going to be the hazard switch module which is the relay for the turn signals(red triangle button). First try to move the turn signal switch just a little and see if you can get it to click with out the turn signal activating ,if the switch doesn;t trip the noise replace the hazard switch
