2000 S-10 defrost problem??
Hello,
I'm having a strange defrost problem. If I start the truck and turn the heater on it blows hot air. If I then switch to defrost it blows cold air through the defrost vents onto the windshield. If I then switch from defrost to heater it blows cold air out of the heater vents. Then if the truck is turned off and I turn the heater on it works fine again but the defrost doesn't. So something is wrong with defrost. Any help pin pointing the problem would be greatly appreciated!

It's either the control panel or the blend door actuator.
The blend door opens up to allow heat from the heater core to enter the vents. If this door is not opening up, either from the door itself, or a bad signal from the control panel, you will have the symptoms you got.
If you can get down underneith the dash, you will see this blend door actuator attached near the heater core box. You will be able to see if it's opening or not.
