How are the best ways to find if a vaccum leak exists around the intake of a GM 3.8 series 1 engine

You can spray WD-40 or carb cleaner around the gasket, if the engine speeds up you have found your leak. Be sure to check the hose for the PCV the rubber tends to detererioate(sp ??) and cause vacuum leaks.
