Question 1979 T bird

I have a 79 t bird with 17000. miles on it. was running great but just up and quit. now i can't get it to start. it is getting gas and the distributer is turning but i am not getting a spark from the coil. it has 12 volts on both posts of the coil and i am not sure it should be this way, tryed a new coil and a new coil wire still the same, checked mag pickup for broken wire it is ok.
there is a motocraft control box on the inner fender but i don't remmember how this all works. anybody have any ideas on what i'm forgetting to check or how this is suppost to work.
I would be greatfull for any help. Thanks, Wyman-m

you say you checked the pickup coil, then most likely your electronic controle module is bad. have you used a dwell meter on the coil to check for signals to make the coil fire?

life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies.
