1992 Dodge Caravan 2.3 liter motor

I have a 1992 Dodge Caravan and just changed the fly wheel in it and now I am having a problem with the steering shaking and a vibrateing noise when you put it into reverse why would this be happening.

If you put in a new one, there's a chance the flexplate didn't seat against the end of the crank, where it bolts on or the torque converter bolts are loose.

If you installed a used flexplate and everything is installed properly, the plate could very well be cracked. Sometimes those cracks aren't obvious and open up when the plate is put under load.

yes the flex plates do sometimes crack on the 2.4 engine...only thing is they tend to make noise out of gear in neutral and go away in gear cause of the load on them.....the 2.4 engine has no balance shafts so it does not run smooth.....and the trany was out to change the flex plate so my thought is your feeling the engine cause of engine mounts.....i find if you loosen the front middle and rear middle and roll the van back wards and tighten them back up the shake gets less or goes away...also if the flex plate is cracked bad enough to cause a shake you will tend to get a cam crank out of sinc code with a check engine light

Is the engine a 2.5 4 cylinder? That's a Chrysler engine. Mitsubishi only provided the 3.0 v6 in '92. That being said, there is a good chance you knocked the powertrain out of alignment when you removed the trans. Try repositioning the mounts, making sure the trans mount on the diff side of the case is properly installed.
