Hello folks,
My wife womanhandled the minivan home the last few blocks after the serpentine belt came off. I've fixed the belt, but her activity resulted in the powersteering fluid shooting an ounce or so of fluid into the engine bay. Not a problem, cleaned it up and checked fluid level. Went for drive and everything is ok but the steering is slightly jerky when tightly turned. Is this safe to drive as such? Will it get slowly worse, or just give out all of a sudden?
It's just a 96 windstar, but it's all we got right now and she totes 2 young ones with it, so i'm quite concerned- safety-wise.

windstars are famous for the belt coming off if you drive in any deep water, over 3 in, i have a friend whose wife has knocked the belt off of theirs 3 or 4 times because she gets in a hurry and won't drive around or slow down for deep water, he is ready to leave her stranded to get the point across
probably air in the system, try to run the system side to side with the engine running several times to see if it will clear up.
life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies.
