gmc suburban

hi all, still driving my 97 gmc suburban. i have a problem with my back door. i have power locks with a separate button inside the back door. the doors are double panel doors, i guess that is what you call them. i unloaded some stuff a week or so ago, closed the doors as usual. a couple days later i tried to open the door and it wouldn't open. i made sure it wasn't locked, same thing. i squirted some wd40 in the key hole with no results. i was wondering if anybody else has had this problem before, or anybody might know what else to try. when you pull the handle there is no resistance, feels like it normally does when it's locked. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

the lock rod has come loose inside the door, see if you can remove the panel inside the door and find the rod. most likely the plastic clip that holds it in place has broken.

life begins when the kids leave home and the dog dies
