broken rear springs
I did a break job recently on our Ford Explorer and noticed that both rear springs were cracked in a couple of spots, each side, higher-up. I can't really notice it when driving and it's not used for pulling anything. We this affect anything else?
Would you replace them?
Thanks in advance,
Lance

I agree. What you see are fatigue cracks (not too uncommon with springs). It's only a matter of time before they will complete the fracture. Change them at your earliest convenience.

can puncture the tire causing a blow out.
Why did I see broken spring and knew it was a ford product.
the taurus is notorious for this they recalled some years but not mine. I've heard a recall maybe coming out so when you do it hold on to your receipts or have done at a F L M Dealer.
also make sure to report the breakage to NHTSA.
