broken rear springs

I did a break job recently on our Ford Explorer and noticed that both rear springs were cracked in a couple of spots, each side, higher-up. I can't really notice it when driving and it's not used for pulling anything. We this affect anything else?
Would you replace them?

Thanks in advance,

Lance

Cracking can/will eventually lead to failure.....I would replace them. Not that expensive and not to difficult.

I agree. What you see are fatigue cracks (not too uncommon with springs). It's only a matter of time before they will complete the fracture. Change them at your earliest convenience.

I'd replace the springs and the struts.

lance you should replace ASAP. if one of the springs move it
can puncture the tire causing a blow out.

Why did I see broken spring and knew it was a ford product.
the taurus is notorious for this they recalled some years but not mine. I've heard a recall maybe coming out so when you do it hold on to your receipts or have done at a F L M Dealer.

also make sure to report the breakage to NHTSA.
