99 frd f250 diesel-no juice to fuel inj.

this 99 f250 diesel just quit running. After a few tests I determined that the injectors are not getting a pulse. Does any one have any idea where to start. I have the repair manual but it does`nt show the engine wiring diagrams. Does anyone know where I can get one free.

Be very careful

If this is the 7.3 DIT, It has 115 volts DIRECT current (Not household AC) that will stop you're heart if you get a shock.. Do you have a signal from the cam position sensor?? Do you have the tach on the dash showing engine revs when cranking?? Don't be pocking around this system with a test lite as it WILL kill you... Careful,,, Roger

This engine was manufactured by Navistar (Internaional).
How do you know the injectors are not being powered? On a 99 7.3 it will be electronic and several conditions must be met for injectors to fire.
If will have probably two fuses for the ecm. Check both.
this is a HEUI system. Do you have proper cam sensor signal?
Do you have ICP(injection control pressure)
** If the engine is too low on engine oil it will not run.
Must also have engine oil pressure to supply high pressure oil pump.

I checked the injector connectors for ground and pulse at crank and one wire had and the other would pulse at crank but also with ground. After testing and guessing, I found a bad connection terminal for the inj. feed(orange wire) at the harness connector. I made the necessaryrepair and now I do get a pos. pulse at the injectors but also a neg. pulse(pos.-neg.-pos.-neg) at crank. Is this the way it should pulse or should it only be pos. I dont know much about diesel, just trying to help a friend. Can I check the fuel pressure with my regular fuel pressure tester for gasoline and how do I check it. Owner said that when he first had the problem he could start it with ether but now even that won`t do it.

Does the cam position sensor also send the signal to tach.
The test light I`m using supposed to be sensor safe and also has a built in fussible link.

I checked the tach. an the needle does move when cranking.
How do I check for ICP? Should the truck start with ether?
Owner said it did at one time but now it doesn`t.
