Cool van sputters help

I have a 84 chevy g20 van with a 350 motor it's fuel injected.
When i drive down hiway it runs fine but when i slow down to about 25 miles an hour it starts to sputter like its going to die.
When going through parking lots when i lightly touch gas pedal it wants to die and it has a few times.
when it sputters if i let off gas pedal completly it stops sputtering and idles at regular speed. its driving me nuts.
I have changed the plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and put in a new idle air control valve but it still has same problem.
If any one has had this problem or knows what to check next please let me know. thanx. van dude:-)

I would check your fuel pressure. Could be a failing fuel pump.

has the timing chain and gears ever been changed? some times just before the chain starts to slip you will notice poor running at idle and slow speed. barring that you might have a fuel injector putting out a poor fuel spray, this will show up more at low engine speeds due to the poor atomization of fuel.

But -his problem only occurs from light throttle, with idle being fine. And presumable cruising speeds or under load being fine, as this was not brought up.

I am leaning more towards thinking he does not have a general fuel delivery problem as much as his delivery rate is not proper at a certain throttle position. Maybe something needs cleaning?, or a "throttle position sensor" needs adjusting or replacing? (Type those 3 words into search engine and read, like Wikipedia.)

just reread the posts, check for a broken wire in the distributor, that when the vac advance moves the plate opens the wire, should show up well with a occilascope. but can be checked with a hand vacum pump and slowly pumping up the vac advance while idleing and listening to the engine run. if is hesitates or dies while preforming this test, you will need to replace the pickup coil in the distributor.

Could you name all the 'everything(s)" so that we can guess at the other stuff?
