grease fittings

grease fittings

whaere are the grease fittings on a 1992 cutlass supreme with a 3.1 liter i think the front end needs to be greased badly it clicks loud when turing and hitting small bumps it almost sees like it is bindin up any ideas of what eles could cause this thank you

It it front wheel drive? Sounds like a bad CV joint.

And most cars nowadays are lacking grease fittings.

really sounds like a cv (constant velocity) joint. An outer one to be more precise. Can't tell which side from here though.


if you take a look under your care, just inside the from wheel, you will find something looking something like this"



but I'm betting it looks a bit more like this:


that rubber boot keeps grease in and dirt out. If the joint gets bad enough, it will break and you wwill not be able to drive your car.

since it is already making noise, it is too late to save it and the joint should be replaced. Usually it is less expensive and simpler to replace the entire half shaft.
