Question Silicone and antilock brakes not compatible?

I’ve heard many people say that you shouldn’t use silicone brake fluid and antilock brakes systems. I was wondering if anyone knew the reasons why; if so Please elaborate.

Never even heard of it. I would only use brake fluid approved through the owners manual.

Silicone brake fluid is commonly called DOT 5.

the only reason not to use dot 5 is if you don't start from a totally clean system you can have corrosion problems due to the residue of dot3 fluid that was in the system before, dot 3 is hygroscopic and if any remains in say wheel cylinders or master cylinders it may cause corrosion with out being discovered until a real problem develops. also dot 5 is not compatible with all rubbers used in some brake systems, dot 3 is alcohol based and dot 5 is silicone based so not all systems will have compatible rubbers and seals.
