90 Chevy Lumina
My daughters car. Joy riding. Broke key off in ignition. Friends tore the igniton apart with screwdriver and hammer. Steering wheel is unlocked.
I want to bypass ignition and put a starter button on the dash.
How do I bypass the ignition?

First, you need a wiring diagram. Remember that you will need switches for On/Off, accessory, and start. You may also need to bypass or rewire the neutral safety switch.
Before doing anything, give your daughter plenty of time to think about her, and her "friends" actions. A few months of walking may both be healthy and the fresh air may clear her head so she thinks a little straighter in the future. I just had to vent - must be the cop in me.
Probably the best bet on the car is to find an independent shop who can get most of the replacement parts from a salvage yard and can work on it as a filler job.

Its not. They tore the whole ignition area to pieces. The steering wheel will turn. I was just thinking I could just bypass the ignition and put in a starter button. You know like the good old days when you could work on your own car in the back yard.

Yeah, yer probably going to wind up making it look like a Nascar cockpit. Nice row of toggle switches with a starter button.
