1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Heater blower stuck in the defrost mode

Hi-
I have a 1999 JGC and the knob that switches air from recycle to feet to defrost etc doesn't work. Any changes to knob/sw position does not change the air out. All air is coming from windshield vent. Several days ago it was working fine.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Your mode door actuator is defective and needs replacement. It's default fail state is in defrost mode.

Usually requires the removal of the dashboard to get it.

I had the same problem with the same vehicle. The system is run by vaccuum. Check to see the line i still on. It is on the intake manifold near the firewall.

I have a 95 JGC and I can switch between defrost and dash but it won't switch to the floor! I know the door is moving, is there any chance that it might be the control module at the dash? That would be an easy fix. at least easier than removing the whole dash! Any Suggestions? thanks Wayne
