I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu with a 3.1L V6 (VIN code J) at 87k miles. I'm getting a check engine light that will come on sporadically. What's odd is I can start the car and drive fine, but both the fuel and temperature gauges aren't working. The stock radio will not come on either. No clock on the radio. Then after a time the system "wakes up". The clock and gauges are working. Autozone, after going to 2 different stores due to staffing shortages, found ODB codes of P0443 and P0449. Going by the print out from the store, an P0449 corresponds to EVAP purge/vent solenoid circuit condition. He recommended to replace the Canister Purge Solenoid. I didn't get the P0443 printout from him. I found on another web forum that PO443 is a "EVAP Purge Solenoid Valve 1 Control Circuit". I have checked some of the fuses. The ERLN (ERLS ?) 10A fuse is good. I had a few questions (1) Can someone expand on the codes that were found? (2) Replace the gas cap? I've read various stuff out there and others have had some success by doing this. (3) On the canister purge solenoid, the Haynes book says it's attached to the cylinder head below the ignition coils. I take this to mean up top, near the firewall? As two error codes point back to the same part, I'm thinking to change it out. As always, thanks ahead of time!

Hello: I thought i posted this but can't find it so i'm doing it again. Yesterday the serpentine belt on my 1995 ford aerostar came off. In figuring the problem i find or think i find that it's missing a tensioner pully... What I need is a diagram or picture of the front end of that motor so as to find out how to and where to put the tensioner pully. I can't find a place where it came off so I can't put a new one back on but it seems there is something missing for sure. the diagram on the hood only has pullys in their relative positions for purposes of routing and that shows another pully we don't seem to have but it does not show where the thing is supposed to fit to the engine .
