check the fuel pump delivery to the engine, could have bleed off and in that case it might take several tries to deliver fuel to the injectors.

if we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat?

Red face simple fix

My car would not start so we pulled off the distributer cap and a small metal piece had fallen off the rotor. It was put back onand wow it started.

Along speedwrenchs line of thought, listen at the gas cap while someone turbs the key on (not "start") to see if you can hear the pump running.

Also you may want to check that the timing belt is intact.
