strange looking spark plugs

This is what I found trying to change the spark plugs on a 07 Toyota Yaris.
Are these some kind of new spark thing???? Is the spark plug buried
in this thing somewhere.???? I couldnt believe this is held in by only 1 bolt
and doesnt seem nearly enough to seal the combustion chamber below it..
It looks like some kind of hooded thing like a TIG torch. what is this thing??
now I see you cant post pics sucks

Sounds like you might have pulled the injector?

they are on top of the 1.5 litre Yaris under the plastic cover and they
have a curled copper wire up in the hood... the injectors are down on the rail... I think.... this is bizarre

Well, according to Autozone, it takes regular Iridium or platinum sparkplugs, so whatever you took off isn't a sparkplug...maybe the on-plug coil?
