Auto batteries

Years ago, I remember date punch ins being put on batteries so you had some clue of how old the battery is. Why aren't they there anymore? I don't think that they could have cost that much. Thank you much for any input.

All the ones I've bought in the last 5 yrs have that, and a plastic envelope to put the purchase info in. I put mine in the glove box though.

Haven't seen anything like that. When I buy a battery, i write the date on it with a white permanant marker.

Look for the little round sticker on the side; the letter and number are code for the date of manufacture. For instance "C|5" would be March 2005.
