A couple months ago the display in the overhead console of my 1999 Chevy minivan started acting erratically. (Sometimes blinking off, sometimes shifting from °F to °C, miles to kilometers etc.) A couple weeks later it went completely blank. I checked the "overhead console" fuse in the fuse block near the glove box and it is OK, but I suspect that is just for the map lights anyway. Map lights and switches work fine but the digital display is dark. I took the console down and reseated the electrical plug in the display unit but that didn't help. Any ideas? Is there a fuse or fusible link hidden somewhere? Help would be appreciated because I am an old guy and I need that magnetic compass! Keep getting lost

 

If you have power and ground then you are going to need a new display. I have replaced a few of them for that problem.
