Auto door locks, '02 Camry

I would like to know if there is a way to defeat the auto locking of the doors when the vehicle is put into gear. This feature has become a real annoyance, and I've been told that there is a way to remove it. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks

Usually this is all tied into the control modules. You may have to bring it by a dealer and see if they can program it not to do it.

remove the fuse that controls the auto engage feature look in you fuse relay booklet that came with the car or simply look on the inside of the fuse housing for the corosponding fuse that needs to be pulled this fuse should only control the one function there by removing this fuse should solve your issue untill you can find a more permanint solution

There is no specific fuse for autolock. The autolocks are controlled through the control module.

Put key in ignition, turn to on position. Open driver's door and remove key (keep door open). Put key in and out 4 times (in/ out only without any turning of key) with the key out at the end. Hit drivers side unlock button 5 times. Wait at least ten seconds and shut the driver's door. Away you go.
