2000 seville.... heated seat

trying to diagnose the front drivers seat that will not heat. Checked fuses all over vehicle. Was wondering if I could possibly swap out module with back seat. Or any other ideas out there would be appreciated.

When you press the heated seat switch on do you hear a relay click? And do you hear another relay click within a second or 2? If so then one of the seat heater elements is most likely burned out.

the heated seat switch is lit up, and when pressed there is no sound no clicking whatsoever. About 1 minute after that there is a quick double click and then about every 90 seconds thereafter

I am going to guess that it's the seat heating elements that are bad. It sounds like the heater control module keeps trying to turn the elements on but senses a problem and turns off right away.

are those heat elements easy to replace. Theres really not that much to the seat itself.

It may be easier to go to an automotive part recycling center (when will we realize that political correctness is silly?). If the center in your area doesn't have it check out Used Auto Parts | Used Car Parts. Centers from across the country will email you if they have a part with prices and shipping info.

thanks, the likely hood of finding the color and condition along with delivery might be just a lost cause. Cadillac sure has all the bells an whistles, though I really think they lack in quality craftsmanship as well as product dependability :

Just out of curiosity how many miles are on it? My car has 214,000 miles and I am thinking about replacing the seats due to them getting rather hard and being able to feel some of the interior wires that hold it together.

There is actually a bulletin about replacing the seat elements. Send me a PM with your email addy and I will send you a copy. It also has the part numbers.
