96 Jeep Gen light comes on
Hello, I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee sport with 175,000 miles on it. Yesterday the Gen light came on. I check the voltage at the battery and alternator and it was 11.75 volts in both places. I removed the alternator and had it checked. It produced 14 + volts. I had the battery checked and it is good. The check engine light never came on. I cleaned the battery cables with on improvement. I am at a loss.

First thing I'd do is check for continuity from the alternator 10 ga wire to battery........
If everything you say is factual, I'd be looking for a blown fusible link first
If you ARE connected from rear of alternator to battery, the net test would be to see if you're getting power to the trigger and field wires that control alt output
