Peeling window tint film seems to be a common problem. Suggested tips include installing film when temp is between 40 and 90 degrees and in the early morning or evening when the windows are cooler. It takes about 30 minutes for film to adhere, but 30 days to fully cure.

Windows need to be very, very clean before application. An expansion gap of 1/16" should be left around the film to accommodate thermal expansion of the glass. Without an expansion gap, the film can cup or crown and allow moisture behind and failure of the film.

It is recommended that windows be cleaned with mild soap and water, avoiding harsh cleaners like ammonia or vinegar or products containing ammonia or other chemicals that can harm the film. Note: Ammonia is often used to remove window tint film.

When weather is cold, window film will get stiff and can peel. It is best to warm up the car so the windows and film get warmed up before lowering windows.
