brakelines 97cavalier

I need to replace the rear brakelines on a cavalier...Do I just cut a piece of the old line off and take it to the part store to match it up..should I piece the lines together or replace it as one piece?...any other advice would be appreciated..Thanks

If you're talking about the steel lines, then yes, the entire line would need to be replaced. If it's ABS equipped (likely), there is a hydraulic modulator hanging off the master cylinder with 4 lines coming out of it. Replace the line from there back. You won't find a single line, so just make sure and use UNIONS to connect sections.
