manual transmission problem

I have a 2006 VW passat 2.0 Turbo and after a long road trip (1400 miles round trip) I seem to be having some problems with shifting.

It has a 6 speed manual transmissions 1,3,5 up; 2,4,6 down.
After the last exit on my return trip and finally having to shift gears I noticed the problem.
The **** to gears 1,3,5 is a shorter throw, and the 2,4,6 gears don't seem to grab very well and sometimes grinds when I release the clutch.

This all happened yesterday.

I also noticed when I accelerate aggressively in 1st gear and then shift to 2nd I get some grinding and then nothing. This only happens I guess when rpms are higher than normal driving.

Any ideas on what could be the problem? The car only has 30,000 miles on it.

Isn't the drivetrain warranty still in place especially with that low mileage?
